Things to Do in Vegas:

The Trippiest Day You Can Have Sober

📍Area15 Las Vegas | 10 min from the Strip | Entertainment Campus | A Yes & Well Field Note

TL;DR

AREA15 is one of the rare places you can spend an entire day in Vegas without casinos, clubs, or cocktails. This massive, multi-building Vegas destination has something for almost everyone: a sci-fi psychedelic grocery trip, projection-mapped immersive yoga, a brand-new activation by Universal (Horror Unleashed) with four haunted houses in one very large building, VR simulators, escape rooms, and A LOT more. Access depends on which of the four tiered passes you grab, with most premium experiences in Tiers 3 and up.

What Is This?

AREA15 is a 300,000-square-foot art and entertainment compound just off the Strip, filled with immersive exhibits across multiple buildings and outdoor zones, and is one of the best things to do in Vegas. Ongoing expansions continue to transform the space into one of Vegas’s most unique immersive destinations, but officially,

it does not exist...

A play on the nearby Area 51, each activation transports you to another world. Starting right outside, where you’ll spot a 747 that was once among Burning Man’s most iconic art, several welded sculptures, including the Pulse Portal by our friend, Dicro Davis, and multiple standalone buildings housing full-scale attractions like Illuminarium, Horror Unleashed, and John Wick’s Escape Room. Inside, you’ll find surreal, participatory experiences that can easily keep you occupied for most of the day.

Why Is This Considered A Wellness Pick?

It’s Vegas in the best way: full of color, movement, and sensory novelty that engages your brain while you're moving your body. Whether you’re dancing through the Dopamine exhibit, wandering the surreal aisles of Omega Mart, or the light-based soundscapes at Museum Fiasco, AREA15 offers a rare combination: big spectacle without the hangover. Designed to be participatory, rather than just spectated, all of the exhibits at AREA 15 are meant to be explored and interacted with, shifting how your brain and body engage. Not to mention, you get to do that inside the A/C while it's 110° outside.

We also give AREA15 bonus points for their partnership with YogaSix and Illuminarium, whose biweekly immersive yoga flows offer an entirely different kind of activation. Practicing movement inside Illuminarium with projection-mapped visuals, floor haptics, and scent is so otherworldly that we cover it in a separate article.

Is it a traditional wellness space? No. But does it create moments of awe, presence, movement, and dopamine without relying on alcohol or overstimulation fatigue? Absolutely.

Our Picks

Top Attractions for Adults

  • Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart (Tiers 3+): You’ll laugh. You’ll wonder what’s going on. You’ll wish you could live inside a supermarket with a storyline.

  • Illuminarium (Tier 2+): 4K image laser projection, in-floor haptics, audio beams, scent… this is immersive x10. Their partnership with YogaSix for a bi-weekly yoga flow is one of our favorites in Vegas (and requires a separate ticket). Check their calendar for upcoming dates.

  • Horror Unleashed (Requires Separate Ticket Purchase): A brand new, year-round (way beyond) haunted warehouse by Universal that’s an eyesore from the highway and already sending people to the ER. Not recommended for kids under 13, this multi-zone experience features four haunted houses: Universal Monsters, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Scarecrow: The Reaping, and Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer

  • Museum Fiasco (All tiers): Think Berlin rave temple meets light therapy. Rainbow glasses included.

  • John Wick Escape Room

Best for Kids + Families

  • Wink World: 20 minutes of dancing slinkies, strobe lights, and aliens

  • AR Dodgeball

  • Birdly VR Flight Simulator & the Laser Maze in The Lab

  • Grand Prix Racing Sim

  • Zip Line

  • Five Iron Golf: Simulator bays that are also great for group parties

More Details

  • Parking: Paid lot or valet.

  • Snacks: Low tier. Heavy on sugar. Bring your own water and non-sticky snacks.

  • Wait Times: Even with passes, expect lines for John Wick, golf bays, and VR sims. Arrive early.

  • Plan for at least 3–5 hours, especially if you’re hitting multiple premium attractions or doing a group activity.

  • Rentals: Whether you’re throwing a birthday in the arcade zone or managing a 1,000-person event, most spaces here are available to rent.

  • Retail: Don’t skip the small retail zone near the entrance, we love the raver gear shop and some well-curated local artist merch in the vending machines. Near the skull...
