🌲 Outdoor Yoga Near Las Vegas:
Just One Hour to Pine Trees, Cool Air, and Calm
[A Yes & Well Field Note | 1 hr from Vegas | Seasonal | Sundays]
***UPDATE*** as of 7/8/2025
This scenic zen class is now offered on Fridays and Sundays, with a sound bath included on select days. Because it is so awesome (!) and the resort would like to ensure a great experience for all, they ask that you now register through their website, and for a small $10 contribution. Go check it our before the season ends!

Some people come to Vegas for the chaos. I drive an hour northwest with 30 ounces of cold brew to lay in the dirt with strangers - at one of the chillest outdoor yoga classes near Las Vegas.
Lee Canyon runs seasonal yoga flows on Sundays at 10:00 a.m., under the pines, on a hill, with birds chirping and flies low-key minding their business. And it was exactly the reset I needed.
You could call it a yoga class, but that’s not really the point. I barely moved. I couldn’t hear the instructor, and I didn’t care. The best kind of crackling was coming from under my mat. I looked up at the sky and remembered:
This. This is why I moved here.
🧭 Getting There
No sign-up needed. Just hop in your car.
Distance:
~1 hour from most of Vegas. Worth every second. Make a playlist—or borrow one of ours.
Set your GPS to:
Lee Canyon Ski Resort (not one of the picnic areas along the way)
Once parked:
Walk straight toward the big lodge building. You’ll usually spot the line of yoga mats heading up the stairs and toward the hill.
Timing buffer:
Don’t be like me. Add 15–20 minutes to your ETA—not just for parking, but for a bathroom stop before you hit the hill ... that 30 oz of cold brew on the way over really showed up.
Also, to find a spot early. Prime spots (flat and within earshot of the instructor) fill fast.
🧘♀️ What to Expect
This isn’t studio yoga. You’re outside—on a hill, in a forest, on whatever patch of dirt, rock, or root system you can claim with your mat. It’s beautiful, and it’s rugged.
Bring a blanket or towel to go underneath your mat.
Not just for comfort—although yes, that helps—but to protect your mat. Twigs, tiny rocks, sap, rough ground... It’s all part of the deal. If you’re someone who cares about keeping your mat nice (or you just don’t want little dents in your next down dog), layer up.
The flow itself was mellow.
Mostly seated or stretch-based.
No need to be athletic - this is NOT going to be your workout for the day, but it is a relaxed and beautiful experience to get outside and get in your body.
I’m sure the instructor was great, but full transparency—I couldn’t hear her for most of it.
I was too busy breathing pine air and gazing up at the sky (and being zen about the technical difficulties with their mic/speaker system).
In future weeks, you can expect to have a soundbath or breathwork added as part of the experience. This week was super early in the season and was just the basic flow (again, if you want to call it that).
Not pretentious.
No Instagram yoga pants required.
People showed up relaxed and normal.
You won’t hear every cue.
You will smell flowers and dirt.
If you're anything like me, you might need the reminder: you're getting outside to relax. So... do that...
🥪 Food
Think lodge food at premium prices.
I honestly didn't even bother to check out the menus at any of their restaurant installations. But you can find basic information (not menus) about Bristlecone Bar, Bighorn Grill, and Brewin' Burro through the resort's website.
Pro Tip: Bring your own snacks or pack a picnic. There are a myriad of places to pop up with your own favorites, and it'll be WAY more special than paying $20 for a sandwich.
🐾 Pets, Bugs & Bonus Activities
Dogs: Allowed on leash around the lodge (outside), not on trails or ski slopes.
Bugs: Not mosquito-heavy, but expect flies and small friends. It’s nature.
Add-ons:
Scenic chairlifts
Mountain biking trails
Disc golf
Sitting around doing nothing in the most healing way possible
🖤 Final Word
If you’re looking for a performance, skip this. If you’re looking for a reset, go. Like now. It’s not curated. It’s not trying to impress you. And that’s what makes it so good.
